Spray mix = water plus product. Add products the way each label says, then top up with water to the spray-mix volume.

Always read and follow the product label. The label is the law: it sets the rate, carrier volume, mixing order, weather and drift rules, protective gear, re-entry interval and pre-harvest interval - and restricted-use products need a certified applicator under your state's rules. This calculator only does the arithmetic on the numbers you enter - it does not recommend any product or rate. Calibrate your sprayer so the water rate you enter is what it really puts out.

How we work it out

  • Acres per tank: tank size ÷ gallons per acre (in metric: liters ÷ L/ha).
  • Product per tank: label rate per acre × acres that tank covers. 128 fl oz = 8 pints = 4 quarts = 1 gallon; 16 oz = 1 lb.
  • Last tank: only mix what the leftover area needs, so nothing is left over to dispose of.

Nothing you type is stored or sent anywhere. Your county Extension office can help with sprayer calibration. Converting GPA to L/ha? Use the spray rate converter.
